Jef has been drawing and painting since high school. While most of his professional career has been spent pursuing things technical - as a Draftsman, a Technician, an Engineer, a Teacher, a Network Administrator, and a Manager – his artistic side was never far out of reach. He had the good fortune to find creative fulfillment in his spare time, through acting, singing, dancing, set design and building in local theater, both here and in Maryland. Now that he is back in Lancaster, he is painting and drawing, in watercolor, oil and charcoal.
Jef's formal training began with private lessons with Dorothy Hollinger, an East Petersburg artist. Her encouragement and guidance sparked his love of drawing and painting at an early age. Without that, he may not have pursued a minor in Art at Millersville University or continued to draw and paint over the last 40 years.
Jef holds a BS in Physics, a BA in Mathematics education and a Minor in Art from Millersville University. He has shown work at local venues including Geveva Bakery Cafe, The Fridge, Carr’s Restaurant and the Annex 24 artist gallery in downtown Lancaster, and outdoor Art shows Heart of Lancaster, Harrisburg Artfest and The Pocono Arts and Craft show.
